Wild Turkeys and A Bonfire

This week we had some visitors to our pasture - a flock of wild turkeys! They showed up on Tuesday and Dixie and the goats were not happy. They took refuge by the barn while the turkeys wandered around and ate. I wish I had taken a picture because they all seemed relatively out of sorts - actually, it reminded me of when we brought Dixie home and Elvis, Ann-Margaret and Nugget seemed dumbfounded:



Anyways, the turkeys eventually took off and the animals went back about their business. The turkeys returned the next day - in fact they increased from 3 to 6 and once again, Dixie and the goats kept their distance.

By Thursday though the novelty had worn off and the arrival of the turkeys was hardly noted by anyone.

And on another note, we had a big bonfire on Friday night to burn a large pile of vegetation that's been accumulating the last few months:
