Goat Drama

I don't know what to tell you about my lack of blogging...sincerest apologies...nothing has seemed worth sharing. All those cute and quirky experiences from my early days in NC are now old hat.

Still - every once in a while something happens. Like tonight. Got home after picking up Mexican take-out. Went to the pasture to put Dixie up and give the goats their treats. Did just that and was looking for Peanut (who is always last to get a treat) when I saw him over by the hay feeder and heard him hollering. Turned out he had gotten his head stuck! I called for Marty who by the grace of God was outside and heard me. He came out and we tried to free Peanut to no avail. Fortunately he wasn't thrashing or twisting too much. So we held him and petted him while we waited for Steve to come over with his crow bar.

In a matter of minutes he was free with little to no damage to the hay feeder. Peanut seemed no worse for the wear and even took a treat from me.
